Book Review: The Snowball

Over the holidays, I got to finish my latest book called “The Snowball”. This book is all about “The Wizard of Omaha”, “The Oracle of Omaha” or the “Sage of Omaha” known as Warren Buffett.

I have read a number of books about Warren Buffet, but this is the first book which went into his personal life. The typical Warren Buffet book goes over his investing strategy, the thought process that is used, and how frugal of a man he is. Don’t worry, there are a number of times where you get to learn how a multi-billionaire spends his money.

Within ‘The Snowball’, you can an appreciation what makes one of the richest people in the world tick. From his upbringing as a child where his father was a member of Congress and his mother lashed out at the kids, you will get an understanding of the normalcies of Warren Buffet. Warren was highly driven from a young age when he was delivering newspapers in his home town of Omaha or in Washington, D.C. You will get a glimpse into how he grew to enjoy having dinners with other famous people.

There are two portions of the book that I appreciated. Firstly, there are a number of photos which shows Warren at different ages and situations. Secondly, throughout the book, Warren is directly quoted by the author in regards to his view point or thinking pattern at the given time.

If you are looking to learn further about how Warren Buffet makes his investment decisions, this is not the book for you. If you are more interested in getting an understanding of the man himself and get a glimpse into his very secretive life, I recommend that you pick up this book.

Have an awesome week.
